This regulation regulates the limit on the number of goods of several commodities that are allowed to be brought into the country without an import permit from the Ministry of Trade," said Head of the Soekarno-Hatta Customs Office, Gatot Sugeng Wibowo in a written statement, Tuesday (12/3/2024).
"These commodity goods are very common when passengers return to Indonesia as consumptive goods or souvenirs for family and relatives," said Gatot.
Not only that, the main regulation of Permendag No. 36 of 2023 which is entrusted to Customs and Excise includes rearranging import policies by shifting import supervision from Post-Border to Border, including electronic, footwear, textiles, bags, and shoes.
"The importers are expected to pay attention to this new provision and make good planning in carrying out import activities," said Gatot.
