JAKARTA - Reza Rahadian and Bunga Citra Lestari (BCL) reunions on the big screen have finally been fulfilled. After acting together in My Stupid Boss 2 (2019), the two are back together in the film Pasutri Gaje directed by Fajar Bustomi.

This film is an adaptation of the popular webtoon by Annisa Nisfihani of the same name. Despite the many criticisms that have rained down on films, Pasutri Gaje is able to improve the other side of its webtoon to come like a romantic comedy film.

The Gaje couple tells the story of Adimas (Reza Rahadian) and Adelia (Bunga Citra Lestari) who have only been married for five months. Adimas' struggle to get Adelia felt paid when she received the blessing of Adelia's father (Indro Warkop).

Adimas and Adelia decided to move to their new home. Adelia imagines their household will be perfect. However, problems for the sake of trouble come in their lives ranging from installments taking care of their homes, office work, to the social pressures they feel. They also decided to postpone having children to focus on their lives.

However, the decision did not seem to be liked by the people around them. Adelia often feels pressured every time people ask when she gets pregnant. On the other hand, Adimas also still wants to make out with Adelia.

Once, Adimas found out that Adelia had arrived late for the month which was usually identical to being pregnant. Happy Adimas immediately announced that Adelia was pregnant. However, it turns out that Adelia is only late for the month so Adimas and Adelia are now trying to change the situation.

The concept of the transfer of the Gaje couple did not take all the materials on the webtoon. This is interesting, because some parts of the story are used to connect Adimas and Adelia's narrative. Starting from their story at Adelia's parents' house, to their work, and others.

They still add an animated element in the scene that will remind us of the webtoon. This graph also supports the comedy side in the film Pasutri Gaje.

Talking about acting, Reza Rahadian and Bunga Citra Lestari don't need to be asked. Both of them look funny, shy to serious in various scenes. Of course this is an important essence in the film because both of them are central characters.

The supporting actors also give colors and even adds to the excitement of the film with funny comedy bits. The interaction of Zsa Zsa Utari's character, Arifin Putra, Nadine Alexandra and Kiky Saputri and Tommy Lim made this film even more hilarious.

Andre Taulany's presence in this film has also drawn a hilarious reaction. He was the link between the chaos that occurred in the office and his own presence had drawn laughter from the audience.

A lot of comedy bits, Pasutri Gaje also has an emotional side of a marriage. Starting from the demands of having children, taking care of households, domestic roles and all conflicts come along with the comedy.

The film Pasutri Gaje has a different narrative that is still in line with its webtoon, but this film also stands alone with interesting storytelling and unmatched chemistry.

The film Pasutri Gaje will air starting today, Wednesday, February 7, 2024 in all Indonesian cinemas.
