JAKARTA - The Aces series is Salman Aristo's latest work in collaboration with Bambang Ipoenk KM as a director. In his creative process, Ipoenk revealed that the script for this series underwent a massive overhaul.

The naskah is growing. So when he received the first and final drafts it was different. There are developments," said Ipoenk during an interview session with The Aces in South Jakarta on Friday, December 15.

The Aces series tells the story of two men with their struggle to prove themselves billiards tables. They are Kiu (Kevin Ardilova) and Dharma (Emir Mahira) who have different social backgrounds.

"The social problem is also different. The difference is adjusted and the development is also carried out when we meet billiards coach, Andy coach, so we can't write carelessly," he said.

The adjustment is also related to shooting in the field. They also overhaul Kiu and Dharma's story so they don't always follow the script.

"There are many terms that I then only found out when the workshop system was shooting, that's what we just found out. There are many adjustments. The angle is like this, it means the choreography is like this," said Ipoenk again.

"Then the choreographer and his team are always on the field and there are many stories about Kiu and Dharma that are different. The color and camera methods are different and we are different, will be neutral when they meet," he explained.

The players also discussed the development of the script until when filming.

"I think we should discuss the script every day," added Kevin Ardilova.

"We as players also need a relatable background. If we are not sure about the background, how can we convince the audience," said Emir Mahira.

The Aces series will be available on Prime Video starting December 21.
