Celebrate Birthday At Pondok Bambu Prison, Lawyers Reveal Jessica Wongso's Reaction To The Viral Ice Cold Documentary

JAKARTA - Jessica Wongso's team of lawyers returned to visit her client at the Class IIA Women's Prison in Pondok Bambu, East Jakarta to celebrate Jessica's 35th birthday on Monday, October 9. Already serving a sentence of 7 years out of a total of 20 years in prison, Jessica Wongso's team of lawyers consisting of Hidayat Bustam, Sordame Purba and Elisabeth Batubara were specifically present to surprise Jessica.

Hidayat Bustam said that if they deliberately brought birthday cakes for Jessica and also several gifts. But unfortunately because of regulations from the Class IIA Women's Prison Pondok Bambu, they could not bring all the gifts given to Jessica.

"Incidentally, Jessica's birthday today, we brought her a birthday cake, there were also several gifts, but we can't bring everything because it's big, it's from Jessica's supporters," said Hidayat Bustam at the Class IIA Women's Prison, Pondok Bambu, East Jakarta, Monday, October 9th.

Furthermore, Hidayat also explained that no special celebrations were given to Jessica on her happy day. Even Jessica's father could not celebrate because of poor health conditions.

"There is no special celebration, his father cannot attend because he is not healthy and is indeed limited to coming here because it is tighter," continued Hidayat Bustam.

On this birthday, Hidayat expressed his hope to always pray for himself to stay healthy while serving the rest of his sentence. Jessica also revealed that she wanted to be free from all the punishments imposed on her.

"He also hopes that friends outside, including netizens, will always be healthy and free quickly," said Hidayat.

It is known that on September 29, Netflix released a documentary film entitled Ice Cold: Murderer, Coffee, and Jessica Wongso. Where this film recounted the case of cyanide coffee which was busy in 2016 which finally sentenced Jessica Wongso to be a suspect in the murder of her own best friend, Mirna Salihin.

Seeing this, Sordame Purba, one of Jessica Wongso's team of lawyers, asked about her client's response to this documentary. It is known that Jessica is also included in this documentary film scene.

"Isn't it Trauma, he's just surprised, 'How can this go viral?'," said Sordame Purba at the Class IIA Women's Prison Pondok Bambu, East Jakarta, Monday, October 9.

In addition, Hidayat Bustam, who was also present at the Class IIA Women's Prison, Pondok Bambu, said that Jessica Wongso's parents had not watched the film or Jessica. This is because there is no Netflix service in prison.

"In fact, his father hasn't watched it yet, Jessica hasn't watched it yet, he doesn't have Netflix, he watches TV with other inmates," said Hidayat Bustam.
