Cak Imin Disbursed The Government's Target To Eliminate Extreme Poverty Rates In Indonesia By 2026

JAKARTA - Minister for Community Empowerment (Menko PM), Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin stated that the government will continue to reduce the extreme poverty rate in Indonesia to zero percent no later than 2026 according to President Prabowo Subianto's orders.

The statement was made after the Ministerial Meeting (RTM) with 43 ministers and heads of institutions at the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan building.

"Following up on the president's instructions for reducing extreme poverty up to 0 percent at most 2026," Cak Imin told reporters, Friday, March 14.

In addition, the government will also strive to reduce the poverty rate to 4.5 percent which is targeted to be achieved by 2029.

Based on current data, said Cak Imin, it was recorded that 25 million Indonesians or 8.7 percent live on the poverty line.

"Therefore, two coordinating ministers and more than 17 ministries and institutions are internal parts of the President's instructions that come out, will soon come out to move together in a series of poverty reduction activities and overcome extreme poverty," he explained.

When the presidential instruction has been issued, said Cak Imin, a meeting will be held again to discuss the validation of the National Socio-Economic Single Data (DTSEN).

Especially synchronizing data on 17 ministries. So, it can be used as a basis for providing assistance to the community.

"We maintain continuous validation so that all poverty reduction programs are right on target," said Cak Imin.
