JAKARTA - TWICE's Nayeon won a debt lawsuit against her mother's ex-lover who sued her up to 600 million won or equivalent to IDR 7 billion. The agency explained Nayeon's position and the clarity of the case.
According to the 13th Department of Civil Affairs of the Seoul Eastern District Court, Mrs. Nayeon's ex-lover filed a loan lawsuit of 600 million won against Nayeon in January but ended up losing the case.
This case began when the former Nayeon mother's lover gave money to Nayeon and her mother reached 535 million won from 2004 until she found out 2016. Nayeon confirmed that the money was accepted to pay monthly rent, household needs, and communication.
The mother's ex-lover sued Nayeon and her mother in January. She claims Nayeon's mother promised to return her money when Nayeon debuted. However, the promise was not fulfilled even though Nayeon made her TWICE debut in 2015.
I lent them money for their daily needs because Nayeon's mother asked for it. I was promised that Nayeon who was training would pay me, but they didn't keep it," the man quoted Theqoo as saying.

However, the court said there was insufficient evidence to state this money was referred to as a loan with a legal obligation to return it.
The former lover of Nayeon's mother did not file an appeal after being declared defeated in the first trial.
Remembering Nayeon as the defendant, Nayeon's agency JYP Entertainment released a response to the case.
"There is nothing to say (regarding the case) because the decision has been resolved and the case is closed. This has nothing to do with the artist's activities as an artist," JYP Entertainment said today, Tuesday, September 19.
Furthermore, JYP Entertainment emphasized that it would take legal action if there was news that could potentially harm their artist.
"However, we will take firm legal action against the issue of defamation of the artist or insulting (artisan) through speculative writing in the future," concluded the agency.
Nayeon herself has been successful with TWICE throughout their careers. This year, they started a stadium tour around the world including Indonesia.
