JAKARTA - The first Miss Universe Indonesia title was successfully intercepted by Fabienne Nicole Groeneveld. This is the first year for Indonesia to hold a Miss Universe Indonesia event to seek Indonesian representatives on the Miss Universe stage, whose previous license was in the hands of the Puteri Indonesia Foundation.

The grand event was held on Thursday, August 8, at the Beach City International Stadium (BCIS), Ancol, North Jakarta.

Representing DKI Jakarta Province, Fabienne Nicole's name came out as the winner of Miss Universe Indonesia 2023, beating 29 other finalists from all over Indonesia.

Nicole was born in Spijkenisse, Netherlands, on December 27, 1999. She is the daughter of Natalia Tanudjaja, President Director of MNC Land. Reportedly, the mother will run as a legislative candidate from the Perindo Party, East Java. Nicole's father came from the Netherlands.

Nicole has studied and became an alumni of several prestigious universities such as Pelita Harapan University, Bachelor in International Business Management, in 2019, the University of New South Wales, Master in Business Administration and the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM), graduated in 2021.

The Miss Universe Indonesia 2023 contest was not the first beauty event that Fabienne participated in. In 2018, she was recorded as having participated in the Miss Global Indonesia contest and managed to win and represent Indonesia at the Miss Global 2018 event in the Philippines.

Nicole is in the top 20 of Miss Global. She also won the Best in Evening Gown and Miss Photogenic awards. Meanwhile, at the Miss Universe 2023 event, Nicole not only took home the crown as Miss Universe, but also brought home the Miss Confidently Beautiful award.

In addition to being active in activities in beauty pageants, Nicole is also active in social activities. Nicole is reportedly actively campaigning for Save the Animals. He is known to be a member of the Surabaya Animal Care Community in collaboration with Dog Meat Free Indonesia.

In this organization, Nicole is tasked with socializing the ban on trade and slaughtering dogs as consumption meat in Indonesia.
