Jailed For Selling Rizky Febian's Car, Teddy Pardiyana Files An Appeal

JAKARTA - After being sentenced to one year and three months in prison by a panel of judges at the Bandung District Court (PN) on January 19, Teddy Pardiyana is now officially detained at Kebon Waru Prison, Bandung.

Tedy's detention was confirmed by his attorney, Wati Trisnawati. "Today, he was detained," said Wati when contacted by the media crew on Thursday, January 26.

Wati explained that her client's detention was carried out after fulfilling a summons from the prosecutor's office.

"So earlier there was a summons from the prosecutor to implement the contents of the PN's decision. We were present at the Bandung Prosecutor's Office and Mr. Tedy was immediately arrested," she said.

The husband of the late Lina Jubaedah was detained a day after he filed an appeal against the Bandung District Court panel of judges' decision against him.

The lawyer stated that Tedy Pardiyana was disappointed with the detention and sentence given by the judge. She highlighted one of the judge's considerations of his client.

"Because in the consideration of the judges, Tedy was considered to have had an unregistered marriage with the deceased," said Wati.

Previously, Tedy also expressed his anxiety about the fate of his son, Bintang, if he had to undergo detention. After Lina died, Tedy admitted that he was a single parent who took care of his child himself.

For information, Tedy became a defendant in the embezzlement of Rizky Febian's car. Tedy's sentence was lower than that proposed by the Public Prosecutor (JPU), which was two years. Teddy was proven to have committed embezzlement according to Article 372 of the Criminal Code.
