Anti Racism Activist, Olvah Alhamid Went Viral For Being Expelled By Papuans

JAKARTA - Miss Indonesia 2015 finalist, Olvah Alhamid went viral after her latest video went viral. In the video, Olvah is seen being scolded and kicked out by women in an area in West Papua.

"You say we Papuans are stupid, you are new idiot. You don't deserve to be here, you leave here!" the woman said pointing at Olvah.

"Don't talk to the media, okay? Here we are!" She said again.

Hearing this, Olvah immediately got into the car. Olvah did not pay attention to the woman's words.

Even though Olvah's arrival in Papua was to attend several activities with the West Papua Provincial Government. Olvah arrived at Rendani Manokwari Airport on Saturday, August 6 at 13.30 p.m. local time.

In addition to being a resource person, Olvah also conducts outreach activities for gender violence.

Moments later, Olvah wrote a tweet about his frustration on social media. He quotes Steve Harvey about social media as a place for the devil.

"There are so many Indonesians who are not happy with their lives & angry with the world, so they express their frustration through comments on social media. Steve Harvey said: social media is a playground for demons," wrote Olvah Alhamid.

It is known that this is related to the controversy experienced by Olvah Alhamid at the end of 2021. At that time, Olvah became a conversation for being racist to one of the races.

The video was taken when Olvah arrived at Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta Airport. Olvah saw that several people had also arrived at the airport like her.

"Here, these people are all Chinese. They are afraid, afraid of us, even though they are the ones who brought the disease to Indonesia," said Olvah in the video.

"Hey, China... China..., hey hua huh!" She said.

The video became a conversation and made Olvah Alhamid considered racist.
