Ariel NOAH Is Happy To Be Able To Owe Money In A Bank With A Song Guarantee

JAKARTA - The government made a new policy, intellectual property such as songs can be used as collateral for loans to banks. Ariel NOAH also welcomed the policy.

"If a song has been patented, it has value and maybe it depends on how big the value is. If it can be used as a guarantee, I'm happy, as a musician I'm happy because the work (music) finally has value in the eyes of the law," said Ariel, quoted from ANTARA, Thursday, July 21.

The government has ratified PP No. 24 of 2022 concerning the Creative Economy which is expected to encourage the creative industry in providing funds or loans between bank financial institutions and the creative economy actors.

Government Regulation (PP) Number 24 of 2022 was issued to make it easier for creative economy actors (Ekraf) to obtain sources of financing from bank financial institutions or non-bank financial institutions.

This allows intellectual property products such as songs, paintings, films, and even performing arts to be used as collateral for loans to banks.

Previously, musician, record producer and politician Anang Hermansyah appreciated the ratification of Government Regulation (PP) Number 24 of 2022 concerning the Creative Economy (Ekraf) which he assessed could encourage the development of human resources because it focuses on intellectual work.

Anang said that the ratification of the PP shows that the government's attention is not only focused on natural wealth, but also intellectual property such as songs, paintings, films, and even performing arts which can later be used as collateral for bank loans.

Meanwhile, musician and Secretary General of the Association of Singing Artists, Songwriters and Musicians of the Republic of Indonesia (PAPPRI) Dwiki Dharmawan is of the opinion that Government Regulation (PP) Number 24 of 2022 requires a valuator or work appraiser regarding the implementation of the regulation in the future.
