JAKARTA - Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has revealed that his band will stop making music in 2025. Martin made the announcement during a pre-recorded BBC radio show, which he co-presented with British host Jo Whiley.

“Will it be time for Coldplay to stop?” Whiley asked Martin.

"Well, I know - I can tell you," he stammered. "I think we have three more records, and our last one will be out right at the end of 2025. And I think after that we'll just be touring – and maybe we'll be doing some collaborative stuff, but, Coldplay's catalog is done, " said Martin as quoted from ANTARA, Friday, December 24.

Consisting of Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, and Will Champion, Coldplay was formed in London, England in 1996 and have released nine albums since their debut, "Parachutes," in 2000.

In that time they have won seven Grammys and sold more than 100 million albums worldwide. Three months ago, Coldplay extended its deal with Warner Music, as Variety exclusively revealed.

The band Coldplay signed new long-term contracts with Parlophone and Atlantic Records. Meanwhile, the group's most recent record, "Music of the Spheres", was released in October this year.
