JAKARTA - The Chinese Entertainment Association announced a list of 88 artists deemed to have violated morals on Tuesday, November 23. This is the ninth list shared after it was first released in 2018.

These 88 people are prohibited from appearing in public or live streaming where digital services are currently being favored by the Chinese people. According to BuzzFeed, this list was created so that the entertainment industry does not welcome artists who are trying to start their careers on other platforms.

"All online platforms and audio and video companies are not allowed to provide broadcast services to individuals on the list," the China Entertainment Association said in a statement.

The 88 artists included in this list consist of actors, presenters, singers, and internet celebrities.

Kris Wu, a former K-pop idol, was arrested in Beijing in July following reports of rape and sexual harassment. Since then, he has never appeared in public.

In addition, actor Zhang Zhehan is also included in this list. His entire social media was deleted after a photo of him visiting Yasukuni Shrine in Japan went viral. This is seen by the public as Zhehan's way of endorsing Japanese crimes during wartime.

There is also the actress Zheng Shuang, the actress who shocked the public because of tax evasion and abandoning her child in the United States.

This ban comes after the Chinese government restricted the behavior of Chinese fan groups to avoid online debates between fellow idol fans.
