TUBAN - Energy and Mineral Resources Minister (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia invited the President Director of PT PGN Tbk Arief K. Risdianto to hold a meeting regarding the increase in gas prices for industry. This was revealed by Bahlil when inaugurating the Mini LNG Plant in Tuban, East Java.

"The President Director of PGN, Mr. Arief, has just come home with me, we will discuss gas for industry. The President called me on the road," said Bahlil in Tuban, Thursday, June 25.

Bahlil added that the problem of industrial gas had reached the table of President Prabowo Subianto so that it needed to be discussed immediately for the smooth running of the industry.

Furthermore, the Chairman of the Golkar Party said that the problem of rising industrial gas prices was estimated by the declining lifting of natural gas, especially for the West Java region.

As a result of the decline, he continued, industries around West Java, Banten, and DKI Jakarta must use Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) which is more expensive than pipeline gas because it must go through the regasification process.

"Now we are still okay in East Java, the price is still okay. In West Java, Banten, Bekasi, Jakarta, there is a correction because our HGBT is decreasing again, because the lifting there is decreasing again, we have to use LNG. So the price is indeed a bit higher," he said.

For this reason, he asked the PGN boss to find a middle ground so that no party is harmed by gas supply and gas price increases.

"This is what we have to find a middle ground to encourage there," he continued.
