BEKASI - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) is preparing 350 plots of land in Tanjung Banun, Batam, Riau Islands (Kepri), to relocate people affected by the Rempang Eco-City project.
Director General of Human Settlements at the Ministry of Public Works, Dewi Chomistriana, said this when met by reporters after attending the 2025 World Day and World City Day (HHD-HKD) Summit at the Upper Medium People's School (SRMA) 13, Pangudi Luhur Center Bekasi, West Java, Monday, October 27.
"The number of parcels we have prepared now is 250 parcels," said Dewi.
Meanwhile, the preparation of 100 parcels of land will be completed by the end of November.
The area also includes the construction of puskesmas and green open spaces (RTH).
"But, we only worked on the land maturation, which built the house of the Ministry of Transmigration (Kementrans). And now the Ministry of Transmigration has started," he said.
The arrangement of the Tanjung Banun area in Batam is one of the priority projects for structuring residential areas which will be held in seven locations throughout 2025. Overall, the total budget disbursed by the Ministry of Public Works for the arrangement of the seven areas reached Rp401.24 billion.
The seven locations include the Arrangement of the Medan Belawan Bahari Area in Medan City, the Arrangement of the Stung Island Settlement Area in Tanjung Pinang City and the Development of the Tanjung Banun Settlement Infrastructure in Batam City.
