Beijing is not satisfied with the results of the investigation of the man who entered the Embassy in Tokyo

JAKARTA - The Chinese Foreign Ministry expressed its dissatisfaction with the results of an investment regarding the entry of an intruder who was said to be a member of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces into the Chinese Embassy in Tokyo in March 2026.

"It has been four months since Kodai Murata, an active officer of the Japanese Self-Defense Forces, entered the Chinese embassy in Japan illegally with a knife. Although we have protested strongly, Japan has repeatedly extended the investigation and handling of the case under the pretext of 'psychiatric evaluation' or other reasons, and delayed justice," said Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian.

A knife was also found at the scene, although no embassy staff or other people were injured.

"China deeply regrets this. For some time, a number of despicable incidents that threaten the security of Chinese diplomatic missions in Japan have continued to occur. Many parties have highlighted the fundamental problems in Japan revealed through a series of dangerous trends," said Lin Jian.

Lin Jian also said that the growing influence of the Japanese right-wing group and the lack of rational voices, the lack of education about the true history, the push for the implementation of more offensive and expansionist defense policies, and the failure to supervise the SDF and maintain discipline within the troops are the problems Japan is facing today.

Any attempt by Japan to downplay the case, said Lin Jian, would only give a green light to the same and cause great losses to Japan itself and the region as a whole.

China-Japan relations have been tense since November 7, 2025 when Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi said China's use of military force against Taiwan, which "could create a situation that threatens Japan's survival" still causes tension in China-Japan relations.
