Build The Bagong Trenggalek Dam, PTPP Implements Hydroseeding Technology

JAKARTA - PT PP Persero Tbk (PTPP) implements hydroseeding environmentally friendly technology in the construction project of the Bagong Package III Dam in Trenggalek Regency, East Java, as an effort to participate in preserving the surrounding environment.

With a contract value of IDR 402.3 billion (including VAT) and an implementation period of 376 calendar days (December 2020, 2024-31 December 2025), the current project progress has reached 40.65 percent as of August 31, 2025, or exceeded the target.

"This dam is expected to be a vital infrastructure that provides direct benefits for the people of Trenggalek," said PTPP Corporate Secretary Joko Raharjo as stated in the information disclosure on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) Jakarta, Wednesday.

Joko explained that the construction of this dam has uniqueness, one of which is an Ogee type Spillway design equipped with two Stilling Basins as energy dampers.

"Pondation spillway stands on a coluvial rock with Boredpile strengthening, so as to control the flow of water optimally while preventing erosion," said Joko.

In addition, he continued, the strategic benefits felt by the community include supply of raw water of 153 liters per second irrigation for 977 hectares of land and reducing the risk of flooding in the Trenggalek City area from 203 cubic meters per second to 44 cubic meters per second.

"With this benefit, the Bagong Dam is expected to support the agricultural sector, maintain clean water supply and minimize the impact of flooding on the Trenggalek community," said Joko.

Joko said Hydroseeding innovation emphasized the position of PTPP as a pioneer of sustainable construction in Indonesia, as well as providing a legacy of green infrastructure that is widely beneficial.

"The Bagong Dam will be a role model for the construction of modern dams that are innovative, environmentally friendly and bring prosperity to the people of Trenggalek and its surroundings, as well as prove PTPP's commitment to carrying out sustainable construction practices," said Joko.
