Prabowo Pangkas Number Of SOE Commissioners, Dasco Make Sure The Deputy Minister Is Not Affected

JAKARTA - Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, confirmed that the deputy minister who occupies the position of Commissioner at a state-owned company will not be affected by the cuts in the number of commissioners by President Prabowo.

Just so you know, Prabowo decided to cut the number of BUMN and tantiem commissioners.

Dasco explained that the placement of the deputy minister in the commissioner chair was an extension of the government's hand.

"In fact, the vice ministers were placed by the president for an extension of the government," said Dasco to the media crew at the Parliament Complex, Friday, August 15.

Dasco said, before being appointed as commissioners of BUMN, the deputy ministers had been notified that they would not get a tantiem.

"So previously the wamen-wamen were conveyed that they were not placed receiving tabtiem, only working to help monitor SOEs as representatives of the government," he said.

President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that he would reduce the number of commissioners to six people and eliminate bonuses commonly accepted by SOE directors. Prabowo will cut the number of commissioners to four or five people with a maximum of six people. In addition, he will also abolish the tantiem policy.

Previously, President Prabowo stated that to cut the number of BUMN commissioners to a maximum of 6 people. In fact, he said, ideally, commissioners in BUMN only had 4-5 people.

"The company lost a lot, there are a lot of commissioners. I cut half of the commissioners to a maximum of 6 people. If possible, there are 4 or 5," said Prabowo in a speech on the 2026 Financial Note and RAPBN, at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Friday, August 15.

Prabowo also admitted that he was annoyed that the commissioners of state-owned companies only held meetings once a month, but received tantiem of up to Rp40 billion per year.

For your information, tantiem is the distribution of company profits to certain parties, directors, commissioners, or shareholders who are given as a form of appreciation for their performance or contribution.

Tantiem (it's) just a trick. So we don't know what tantiem is. There are commissioners who have meetings once a month, the tantiem is Rp40 billion a year," he said.

Therefore, Prabowo admitted that he had ordered Danantara Indonesia to clean up BUMN. He asked Danatara not to provide bonuses if state-owned companies suffered losses.
