JAKARTA - Head of the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas), Erika Retnowati explained a number of steps by BPH Migas in supervising the distribution of subsidized fuel throughout 2025.
Erika said the first strategy carried out was to strengthen regulations in the field of supervision. One of them is by lifting the charging volume through the amount of fuel coming out at the end of the nozzle.
"So in the form of verification at the end of the nozzle and we are currently preparing technical guidelines. Just waiting for PMK from the Ministry of Finance, we will set technical guidelines for the calculation," Erika said in a Hearing Meeting (RDP) with Commission XII DPR RI, Monday, February 10.
Furthermore, Erika continued, by issuing new regulations related to the maximum volume of diesel fuel distribution (JBT). By cooperating with the Gadjah Mada University Study Team (UGM), BPH Migas will issue new restrictions on the volume of fuel lighters at gas stations. For information, the solar volume allowed for filling includes 60 liters for 4-wheeled vehicles, 80 liters for 6-wheeled vehicles and 200 liters for above 6-wheelers.
"We consider that it is too much because it exceeds its tengki capacity so that it has the potential to be misused and based on the study we conducted together with the Gadjah Mada University (UGM) study team, we will make this more stringent for its volume," he explained.
Furthermore, BPH Migas will increase supervision at the handover point. If previously the supervision was only carried out at gas stations, Erika ensured that BPH Migas would monitor gas stations, SPBB and TBBM.

"So if we focus more on gas stations, later we will further increase supervision of SPBB and TBBM. Then also hybrid supervision," he added.
Erika said, BPH Migas will also ask for increased access to CCTV at gas stations in real time and increase the use of the XStar application belonging to BPH Migas by the Regional Government.
"So right now, not all local governments use this application, so there are still recommendation letters issued manually, but every heart there is always a letter for an application for assistance related to this application. And we certainly want 100 percent of the local government in 2025 to be able to use the XStar application," said Erika.
