JAKARTA - PLN has built two electricity infrastructures, namely the 150 kV Digital Substation (GID) Teluk Naga II and the 150 kV High Voltage Air Line (SUTT) Teluk Naga Incomer located in Tangerang Regency.

These two infrastructures will later supply electricity to the Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) 2 business area which has the largest load demand and residential areas around Tangerang.

"The growth in electricity demand in the Tangerang area and the PIK 2 Business Center has increased over the last few years, which is predicted to continue to grow in the future in line with the current recovery in community activities," said General Manager of PLN's West Java Development Main Unit (UIP JBB) , Octavianus Padudung to the media, quoted Monday, May 23.

Meanwhile, the 150 kV Teluk Naga II GID located in Kosambi District, Tangerang is the second GID built by PLN UIP JBB.

Currently, the construction of the GID itself has been completed. Later, the 150 kV Teluk Naga II GID will receive electricity from the Lontar PLTU.

Not only that, this GID also has other advantages such as reducing the use of copper cables and being replaced with fiber optic cables.

"This GID is one of the innovations from PLN that uses the latest technology," said Octavianus.

Manager of UPP JBB 2, Budi Ari Wibowo explained the positive side of using fiber optic cables. By using fiber optic cable, PLN indirectly makes cost, quality and time efficiency.

"In addition, the existence of a remote operating system will increase the safety of the installation and reduce the potential for work accidents such as electric shock because the health and safety aspects of electricity can be controlled optimally," explained Budi.

The Teluk Naga Inc 150 kV SUTT project consists of 17 towers which will use 4 circuits. The development progress to date for the foundation and tower erection stages has been completed in 14 of the 17 towers.

The project, which spans a 21.2-kilometer circuit (kms) has its own level of difficulty, such as the tower foundation design that needs special attention because it is dominated by swamps and ponds, challenging access roads for transporting construction materials, and limited land availability.

Budi said, with reliable Human Resources (HR) and the use of qualified technology, every challenge can be overcome so that the project progress goes according to schedule. After the construction process of this project is completed and ready to operate, it will supply electricity from the 150 kV Lontar GI.

The GID 150 kV Teluk Naga II and SUTT 150 kV Teluk Naga Incomer are scheduled to operate in 2022 in accordance with PLN's RUPTL 2021-2030.
