JAKARTA Google launched an application version of their Big Language Model (LLM), namely Gemini, to Android devices earlier this year. Even though it's already launched, not all devices can use it.

Gemini AI can only be downloaded on devices with Android 12 or later systems. Previously, Android users with the old Android system had to be tolerant because Gemini was not compatible on their devices, but now they are no longer.

Citing from the 9to5google report, Google is quietly expanding the Gemini app to the older Android system, namely Android 10 and Android 11. This update was not announced, but can be seen in the app update.

This minimum requirement update can be seen on Gemini version v1.0.626720042. With this policy change, users with Android 10 and 11 systems can open the Google Play Store on their devices and search for the app.

Although Gemini is added to old devices, the performance and function of the apps do not decrease. User experience is the same as Gemini which is run on the latest device or device with the system above Android 12.

There is no problem using Gemini as long as the device with the old system does support its application. Users must ensure that their storage is sufficient and can operate the application.

Although it has been launched since the beginning of this year, Gemini is not yet available in all countries, including in Indonesia. It is not yet known when this application will be launched in Indonesia, but we can already use Gemini's website version.
