JAKARTA - The younger brother of the former Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Antasari Azhar, Azwardy Azhar, stated that he was ready to run at the 2024 Belitung Pilkada.

"Today, April 26, 2024, I am Azwardy Azhar stating that he will participate in the 2024 Belitung Regent Election," said Azwardy in Tanjung Pandan, Friday.

According to him, this consideration was taken so complicated because in the last 3 months there have been so many questions from the public that he will run again in the 2024 Belitung Pilkada

Previously, Azwardy Azhar had also run for the 2018-2023 Belitung Regent Candidate paired with Erwandi A Rani.

"Hopefully, by taking the form at the PDI Perjuangan Belitung DPC, questions from the public can be answered," he said.

In fact, in the last 2 months, Azwardy Azhar's Away call has also received a push to advance in the nomination market for the Governor of the Bangka Belitung Islands Province in the 2024 Pilkada.

"The decision came from the elders in the province, young people, as well as the mothers to create new nuances and atmospheres in the Province of the Bangka Belitung Islands," he said.

"Although until last night, several seniors in Bangka questioned that my capacity was no longer suitable to participate in the regent's contestation," he said.

He continued, "I said which size and who measured it? Because once again I am not looking for a position, but how big am I useful for many people. For that, I think, I will benefit more if I am in Belitung."
