Sri Mulyani Schedules 28 Finance Track Meetings At The G20 Indonesia Presidency 2022

JAKARTA - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani said that her party together with Bank Indonesia had compiled 28 financial agendas (finance tracks) in Indonesia's presidency at the G20 in 2022. In fact, the Minister of Finance said that this meeting would begin in December this year.

"We and Bank Indonesia will be the hosts starting this December," he said in a virtual press conference, Tuesday, September 14.

In detail, the Minister of Finance explained that of the 28 meetings, six of them were ministerial level meetings.

Then, four meetings at the deputy level, 16 meetings at the working group level, and 2 meetings in the form of international seminars.

Overall, Sri Muylyani said that Indonesia had planned around 150 meetings during the G20 presidency next year. A number of these meetings are high-level conferences (KTT) attended by heads of state, 17 ministerial-level meetings, 10 deputies, and more than 100 working group meetings.

"This is going to be an incredibly busy year and of course we need the support of the whole community to make the planned meeting a success," he said.

The Minister of Finance's expectation is quite reasonable. The reason is, Indonesia will be the host of a group of countries with the largest economies in the world.

"Of course the success of the event is not only to raise the name of Indonesia but also to discuss and resolve global issues that are relevant today," he said.

For information, currently Indonesia has joined the leadership of the G20 Troika with Italy and Saudi Arabia.

Previously, at the end of May 2021, President Joko Widodo had issued Presidential Decree (Keppres) No. 12 of 2021 concerning the National Committee for the Organizing of the 2022 G20 Presidency.
