The Community Is Advised To Use THR Money For Financial Protection

JAKARTA - Prudential Syariah advises people, who receive holiday allowances (THR) ahead of Eid al-Fitr, to take advantage of one of them to complement financial protection.

Head of Marketing, Communications, and Customer Management Prudential Syariah Adhi Nugraha Sugiharto said that ahead of Eid Al-Fitr, many people receive THR which is usually used to spend various Eid needs, both for homecoming trips with family, household needs, and so on.

"However, without good financial management, THR could run out faster, even before Lebaran arrives," he said in his statement in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, March 26.

The latest trend shows that more and more people set aside some of their THR for savings, he continued, based on a YouGov survey entitled "Ramadan 2025-How Indonesians plan to spend and give this positive season", nearly 58 percent of respondents in Indonesia chose to save their THR, while the rest chose to spend it.

According to him, this phenomenon reflects the increasing public awareness of the importance of wiser financial management, including as an anticipatory measure for future emergency conditions.

"THR money can also be used to complement financial protection through sharia insurance and this is the right time to start having protection. For this reason, it is time to complete financial protection with sharia insurance," he said.

Adhi added that for people who already have health insurance from the office or BPJS Health, it can complement protection with sharia life insurance.

"This insurance can be considered for those who are the main earners or help the family's economy a lot," he said.

If sharia health insurance provides protection when participants are sick, he continued, life insurance will provide protection if participants lose the ability to earn a living.

Several life insurance products from Prudential Syariah, according to him, have the benefits of protecting the risk of death and dying from accidents, especially during the Lebaran, umrah, and Hajj homecoming trips, because during homecoming trips, it is important to protect yourself and your family from various risks.

"So that the homecoming trip is smooth and still feels safe, having protection can help to provide financial protection for the family," he said.

He asked the public to choose life insurance in line with sharia values and provide benefits for them and their families, especially to be able to carry out their mandate to protect themselves and their families.

"The use of THR can vary, ranging from meeting the needs of Eid to setting aside some for savings or investment. By managing finances wisely, it will provide long-term benefits for the family's financial welfare," he said.
