KPK Finds Land Cruiser from the Secretary of the Regent of Kuansing, Number Plate Turns Out to Be Replaced

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has found a Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR-S unit which is suspected to be a bribe evidence in the alleged sale and purchase of positions in the Government of Kuantan Singingi Regency (Kuansing). The car which is suspected to have been hidden uses a different number plate.

This was conveyed by KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo when explaining that the investigation team carried out searches in Kuansing Regency, Riau, and Pekanbaru City from Saturday to Monday, July 4-6. This forced effort was carried out at a number of government offices and the houses of parties related to the case.

"The locations of the searches in Kuansing, namely at the Regent's Office, the DPRD Office, the Plantation Office," Budi told reporters, Tuesday, July 7.

In addition, investigators also searched the private house and the official residence of the Regent of Kuansing Suhardiman Amby, the Regional Secretary of Kuansing Zulkarnain, the President Director of PT Mitra Ideal Consultant Ardiles, to a number of other houses suspected to be related to the case.

"Several other houses related to the case in question, one of which is the house of the Head of the Plantation Service," he said.

In Pekanbaru, investigators also searched the expedition office. From a series of activities, the KPK seized documents and electronic evidence.

In addition, Budi explained that investigators also found a vehicle that was suspected of being a bribe object in the case.

"In addition, on Saturday, July 4, KPK investigators also found evidence in the form of a 2023 Toyota Land Cruiser LC 300 which is evidence of the bribe from suspect ZKN to suspect SA, which is suspected to have been hidden in one of the warehouses where vehicles are stored in Pematang Siantar," he said.

When the vehicle was found, it was no longer using its original number plate.

Budi said the condition of the car had been replaced with the plate. Investigators then took the car to Jakarta using towing services.

"KPK will continue to trace every information, assets, and parties suspected of being related to this case, as a manifestation of the commitment to provide professional, transparent, and legal enforcement," said Budi.

As previously reported, the KPK named three people as suspects in the alleged bribery of the filling of the Kuansing Regent's post after conducting a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) on Monday, June 29. They are Kuansing Regent Suhardiman Amby, Kuansing Regent Zulkarnain, and Ardiles as President Director of PT Mitra Ideal Consultant.

In the construction of the case, Suhardiman allegedly asked for one unit of Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR-S worth around Rp. 2.05 billion to the participants of the selection for the position of the Regional Secretary. The request was fulfilled by Zulkarnain who bought the vehicle through a credit scheme using the identity of Ardiles for financing applications.

In addition, the KPK also found other alleged receipts made by Suhardiman related to the process of releasing Limited Production Forest (HPT) areas. Investigators are said to be tracing the amount of receipts, the mechanism of giving to the party suspected of receiving.
