JAKARTA - Director General of Mineral and Coal (Minerba) Tri Winarno gave a new signal regarding the increase in mineral and coal royalties rates which will be issued before Eid Al-Fitr 2025.

Tri said that currently the regulation is almost issued and has been submitted to the Ministry of State Secretariat (Kemensetneg) and will then be signed by President Prabowo Subianto.

"Almost done, it's almost finished. What date is this? Maybe (before Lebaran)," he told the media crew in Jakarta quoted Wednesday, March 19.

Tri Winarno emphasized that the government's goal in increasing mineral and coal royalties rates is to improve the management of coal minerals so as to provide win-win solutions for both the government and business actors.

Regarding the protests filed by business actors, Tri said the protests were not accompanied by details of the losses in question. He also emphasized that before raising royalties rates, the government had examined financial reports from each company.

"We also increase the calculation for the company's financial statements, we continue to exercise what it looks like, and in the end, a number will appear which will be used regarding the increase in royalties. We are together with the Ministry of Finance," explained Tri.

Tri, who also serves as Commissioner at the BUMN Mining Holding, MIND ID, said that judging from the company's financial statements, this increase in royalties did not harm business actors.

"From the financial statements that have been made by the company, it feels like it's still okay," Tri said.
