JAKARTA - PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) has contributed to the construction of the Sidan Dam in Bali which will maintain the safety of clean water supply for millions of Denpasar people and its surroundings. Until February 2025, GIS has supplied 76,000 tons of cement building materials for the construction of the National Strategic Project (PSN).

The Sidan Dam, located in Badung, Gianyar and Bangli Regencies, is a zonal-type dam with an asphalty core that is 197 meters long and 68 meters high with water sources coming from the Ayung River. The dam with a capacity of 3.82 million m3 will provide raw water as much as 1,750 liters per second for four areas in Bali, including Denpasar, Badung, Gianyar, to Tabanan, with an estimated total beneficiary of 1.3 million people.
In addition to providing raw water, the Sidan Dam will also function as a Micro Hydro Power Plant (PLTMh) with a capacity of 0.65 MW, and has the potential for floating PLTS to float 20 percent of the inundation area with a capacity of up to 8 MW. The Sidan Dam is also equipped with an evader tunnel that functions as flood control.
