Sri Mulyani 'Asked For Help' To Civil Servants, TNI And Polri: THR Must Be Spent, This Is One Recipe For Economic Recovery

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati confirmed that the Great Holiday Allowance (THR) for civil servants (PNS), National Army (TNI), and National Police (Polri), amounting to Rp30.6 trillion will be distributed on D-10 to D-5 Eid 2021.

"This THR will be paid on D-10 to D-5, because usually, this is gradual," said Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani during the online press conference of the KITA State Budget in Jakarta, Thursday, April 22.

The Minister of Finance said that Rp30.6 trillion in THR for civil servants, military, and police will be spent on the central government with an amount of Rp15.8 trillion and Rp14.8 trillion for regions.

Currently, she continued, the government is finalizing the discussion of implementing regulations for THR disbursement in the form of government regulations (PP) so that President Jokowi can sign them immediately.

"Currently the PP is in the process of being signed by the President," said the Minister.

She hopes that the THR will encourage people to shop so that it can have a positive impact on people's spending.

"So the THR is a very significant amount and we hope it will encourage. Even though the community does not go home, they can still send it to their parents or relatives in the city where they live," said the Minister.

The Minister of Finance advised the public to participate in economic recovery by shopping at shopping centers but still applying health protocols. The government, she said, would use various instruments creatively, such as the National Online Shopping Day (Harbolnas).

"Consumption activity continues, investment starts to grow, and this will all be a recipe for us to recover the economy without causing an increase in the number of COVID-19," she said.
