Good News From The Minister Of Energy And Mineral Resources: As Of April 2021 122 Units Of Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Have Been Built

JAKARTA - The government is consistent with the implementation of the Battery-Based Electric Motor Vehicle (KBLBB) policy. Until April 2021, there are 122 units of Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) for electric vehicles spread across 83 locations.

Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Arifin Tasrif said the government was consistent in accelerating KBLBB. The goal is none other than to increase national energy security by reducing dependence on imports of fuel oil (BBM).

"As of April 2021, 122 charging stations have been built in 83 of the largest locations in several areas. Such as gas stations, gas stations, offices, hotels, parking areas along toll roads", he said in a virtual press conference, Thursday, April 22.

According to the roadmap prepared, said Arifin, by 2025 the government is targeting to build 3,860 SPKLUs with 39,627 KBLBB units. Meanwhile, SPBK itself will build 17 thousand units in 2025.

Arifin said that his party appreciated Grab's commitment to present 26 thousand KBLBB units by 2025 as a green step initiative glorified by Grab Indonesia. Because this is in line with the government's steps to implement Presidential Decree Number 55 of 2019 concerning the acceleration of KBLBB for road transportation.

"We really support the KBLBB ecosystem which has been and will be carried out by Grab through the procurement of scooters, electric bicycles, electric motorbikes, and electric cars, we hope this ecosystem can be expanded to all provinces where Grab operates", he said.

Currently, said Arifin, the world is moving in the KBLBB era. Therefore, the government is committed to making it happen by making electric vehicles operational vehicles in ministries/agencies and regional government.

Arifin said the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has also issued a derivative regulation of Ministerial Regulation Number 13 of 2020 concerning the provision of electric charging infrastructure for battery-based electric motors. This regulation regulates electricity provisions, electricity rates, and standards on electric power safety for public charging stations and public battery exchanges.

"Various regulations and incentives aimed at the government are aimed at making people switch to KBLBB. This is needed so that a massive ecosystem, one of which is Grab, with its professionalism and partners", he said.
