Deputy Minister Of Finance Suahasil Reveals Budget Efficiency Supports The Effectiveness Of Central-Regional Government Operations

Deputy Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara explained that the current budget efficiency aims to increase the effectiveness of the government's operational budget, both in the APBN and APBD.

According to him, the efficiency of the budget will allow funds to be used for activities that really support increased productivity, local economic growth, and empowerment of MSMEs.

"The funds can be used for activities that really increase productivity and increase the message from the DPD is to grow the local economy to increase MSMEs," he told the media crew, Tuesday, February 18.

On the other hand, regarding the efficiency of the 2025 budget of IDR 750 trillion, Suahasil explained that based on Presidential Instruction (Inpres) number 1 of 2025, the efficiency carried out includes a Ministry / Institution budget of IDR 256 trillion and a regional transfer budget of IDR 50 trillion.

"There is no efficiency as written in Presidential Instruction 1/2025 from the K/L budget of Rp256 trillion and from the apbd from transfer to the regions there will be Rp50 trillion later we will combine it and it will already be in the inpres 1/2025," he explained.

Regarding the budget savings submitted by the President on the 17th anniversary of Gerindra, Suahasil revealed that the savings had been made in recent years, through budget disbursement carried out in previous years, and this year including dividends from SOEs.

"The budget savings that the president said earlier were a few years ago, we have carried out a sweep that already exists, and this year we are conducting a sweep, then there are also those from SOEs," he said.

Previously, Chairman of Committee IV DPD RI Ahmad Nawardi had mentioned the budget efficiency carried out by the government as stated in Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 1 of 2025 and Circular Letter of the Minister of Finance Number S37 MK.02 2025.

"The Ministry of Finance has cut the budget of Rp306.6 T from 16 expenditure posts, consisting of Rp256.1 T from KL and Rp50.5 T expenditures from transfer funds to the regions," he explained.

According to him, the impact of this very aggressive budget cuts may be felt in the future, although at this time it cannot be felt.

"Currently, we believe that in the hands of the Minister of Finance, the extraordinary efficiency does not have an impact on social stability, economy, community welfare, domestic consumption subsidies, and others," he said.
