JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) (Hutama Karya) ensures that the construction of the Nusantara Capital VVIP Airport (IKN) runs according to plan.

This infrastructure is designed to improve connectivity and support the mobility of government apparatus and economic activity in the IKN area.

Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Adjib Al Hakim stated that his party is committed to completing this project, especially at land facilities, in collaboration with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) as a employer.

Currently, the progress of the main work on the land side has reached 100 percent. Development includes VVIP and VIP terminals, traffic control (ATC) water towers, administrative offices and worship buildings.

Meanwhile, some additional work, including the drainage system, is targeted for completion in March 2025.

"We are committed to completing this project with the best standards, so that it can support the connectivity and activities of the government in IKN," said Adjib in his official statement, written on Saturday, February 15.

To ensure efficiency and quality of development, Hutama Karya adopted the Building Information Modeling (BIM) technology. This technology is able to improve the accuracy of the calculation of work and progress monitoring in real-time.

Thanks to the application of this technology, the VVIP IKN Airport Building project won the 1st place in the Building Category at the 3rd ASEAN BIM Competition 2024 which took place in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia.

Adjib admitted that development had faced challenges, especially high rainfall which caused inundation at several points. This is because the drainage channel has not been connected to air side facilities.

"When IKN VVIP Airport operates, it is hoped that it will become the main catalyst in the growth of the surrounding economy and strengthen the company's portfolio in the field of air transportation infrastructure," he concluded.
