Minister Of PKP Maruarar: Developers Must Be Responsible For The Quality Of Subsidized Houses That Are Being Built

JAKARTA - Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait (Ara) stated that developers must be responsible for the quality of the subsidized houses built.

To ensure this, Ara said the PKP Ministry would continue to monitor the field in each subsidized house.

"I will check which developers / developers are good and not, to provide opportunities for developers who are competent but have not been given the opportunity," he said in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Monday, February 10.

According to him, developers must be responsible for improving existing facilities and facilities in the event of damage that interferes with the comfort of residents.

"We control the same thing so that everything is good, the community remains comfortable and healthy," he said.

He will try to carry out President Prabowo Subianto's directives to realize the 3 Million House Program by encouraging good and targeted subsidized housing quality. This is because in the distribution of KPR FLPP using the APBN with a subsidy of 75 percent of the state budget and 25 percent of banks.

"We will continue to support subsidized houses for the people by advancing this FLPP program. But of course not like this, how can children grow and develop well if the environment is flooded and there must be further handling," said Ara.

For information, the Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait after a dialogue with residents of Grand Permata Residence Housing in North Tambun, Bekasi, namely the head of the local RT named Asep, instructed developers to immediately deal with problems that were being complained by residents.

"Flooding as high as the ankle, poor waterways, we also ask for adequate public facilities (mosques, prayer rooms). Problems and complaints have been reported to the developer but there has been no response. Residents have requested that drainage and public facilities be built," said the head of RT Asep.

For the follow-up, Ara will make a return visit to the housing estate on March 20, 2025, to evaluate the follow-up that has been carried out on the matter.

"The developer has stated that he will carry out the construction of drainage for approximately 3 months. In 1 month, please monitor and re-evaluate by the Director General of Rural Affairs and the Director General of Governance and Risk Control," said Ara.

Meanwhile, Housing Developer Permata Residence explained that his party is ready to repair the existing waterways. However, his party also asked for about a month to make a good water channel.

"We are ready to repair the waterways for about 1 month," he said.
