JAKARTA - In order to support the Free Nutrition Food Program which has been launched since January 6, 2025, the Association of Indonesian Milk Cooperatives (GKSI) today affirms its commitment by handing over assistance in the form of 15,000 milk to the Special Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) Wong Solo in Central Java.

This event was chaired directly by the Head of the National Nutrition Agency and attended by the Minister of National Development Planning/Bappenas as well as the General Treasurer of GKSI. The event took place in Kelipan Hamlet, RT 01 RW 07 Crowsipat Village, Ngemplak District, Boyolali Regency, Central Java.

The Minister of National Development Planning/Bappenas and the Head of the National Nutrition Agency gave his appreciation for the concrete steps taken by GKSI.

"The nutritional need for the Free Nutrition Food Program must continue to run and be well controlled. Especially the availability of milk. With the support from GKSI today, we can try milk," he said, in a written statement, Wednesday, January 15.

In line with this, the Head of the General Treasurer of GKSI Febryanto SE stated that this step is a tangible manifestation of GKSI's support for the government's efforts to increase people's nutritional intake.

"With the assistance of 15,000 milk to one of the SPPGs (Especially Wong Solo) today is a form of GKSI's commitment to support the Nutrition-Free Food Government Program," he said.

The Free Nutrition Food Program is here as a strategic step to answer the challenges of malnutrition which is still one of the main problems in Indonesia. Recent data show that stunting and malnutrition rates in some areas are still concerning, especially among children. Through this program, the government is trying to ensure that basic nutritional needs can be met evenly, especially for the most vulnerable community groups.

As one of the biggest contributors in future generations of growth, access to nutritious food is very crucial. This program not only provides food, but also becomes a tangible manifestation of the government's attention to the future of a healthy and productive nation. Milk assistance from GKSI is expected to be one of the important steps in this effort, considering that milk is a source of protein and calcium that is needed by the body, especially children in their growing period.

After the activity at SPPG Special Wong Solo, this program was followed by visits to several schools, namely SDN 1 Kakersipat, SDN 1 Donohudan, SDN 3 Donohudan, and SMAN 1 Ngemplak. This visit aims to directly observe the implementation of the Free Nutrition Food Program in the educational environment.

The school environment is one of the strategic locations to ensure the success of the program, considering that school-age children are a vulnerable group that requires special attention in meeting nutritional needs.

Through this visit, the government and stakeholders can see firsthand the effectiveness of the program and identify the challenges that may be faced in its implementation. Thus, improvement steps can be taken immediately to ensure the distribution of nutritious food runs according to plan and is on target.

GKSI hopes that this step can be an inspiration for other parties to participate in supporting the success of the Free Nutrition Eating Program, in order to create a healthier and more quality Indonesian society.
