BPH Migas Increases Subsidized Fuel Quota For Indonesian Trains

JAKARTA - The Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) will increase the subsidized fuel oil quota (BBM) for PT Kereta Api Indonesia by 2025.

This year's government has set 209,809 KL of Subsidized Fuel for trains.

KAI Vice President Public Relations Anne Purba said that her party welcomed the increase in quotas by the government through this BPH Migas.

"This certainly shows great attention to the smooth operation of rail transportation in Indonesia which provides benefits for many people to switch to environmentally friendly modes of transportation," said KAI Vice President Public Relations Anne Purba, Tuesday, January 7.

Just so you know, in the previous year, namely 2024, the allocation of subsidized fuel quota for KAI was 196,653 KL. In 2025, the government through BPH Migas will provide an increase of 13,156 KL or around 6.7 percent.

The quota will be used for various types of trains, both for passengers and goods, with the following details:

Passenger Trains: 184,036 KLs For Klinker Commodity Trains: 913 KLs For Parcel Commodity Trains: 3,996 KLs For Goods Trains For Container Commodities: 15,593 Semen Commodity Trains: 5,271 KL

As part of an effective implementation, the distribution of subsidized fuel quotas will be distributed according to the operational needs of each Operational Region (Daop) and Regional Division (Divre) of KAI, with details of the quota allocation for each region as follows:

1. Daop 1 Jakarta: 56,892 KL

2. Daop 2 Bandung: 18,969 KL

3. Daop 3 Cirebon: 5,191 KL

4. Daop 4 Semarang: 15,182 KL

5. Daop 5 Purwokerto: 12,917 KL

6. Daop 6 Yogyakarta: 21,909 KL

7. Daop 7 Madiun: 6,756 KL

8. Daop 8 Surabaya: 50,877 KL

9. Daop 9 Jember: 6,482 KL

10. North Sumatra Provre I: 6,564 KL

11. West Sumatra Divre II: 2,779 KL

12. Palembang Divre III: 2,413 KL

13. Divre IV Tanjungkarang: 2,634 KL

14. South Sulawesi Railway Management Center: 244 KL

In addition, Anne said KAI would like to thank the Government and BPH Migas for increasing the subsidized fuel quota. This increase is very important to ensure train operations continue to run smoothly to support the Indonesian economy.

In addition, KAI will also use the Subsidized Fuel quota for the development of transportation networks, such as the Makassar-Parepare Perintis Train which will provide great benefits for the community, facilitate mobility, and of course encourage the regional economy.

"Through the increase in quotas on the subsidized fuel policy for 2025 which was secured, KAI is committed to continuing to support national economic developments, as well as presenting solutions for a more environmentally friendly and sustainable transportation ecosystem," concluded Anne.
