Deputy Minister Of Public Works Diana: Only 37 Percent Of ASN Have Participated In Training

Deputy Minister of Public Works (PU) Diana Kusumastuti said, until now, only 37 percent of ASN have participated in training with the development of their competencies.

In fact, he continued, based on Law Number 20 of 2023 concerning ASN, it is mandated that ASN must develop its competence.

"It turns out that until now, there are still 37 percent of ASN within the scope of the Ministry of Public Works who take part in education and training with the development of competencies for more than 20 hours per year," Diana said at the Launching Corporate University and Smart ASN of the Ministry of Public Works at the Auditorium of the Ministry of Public Works, Jakarta, Monday, December 9.

Diana did not deny that there are many tasks of the Ministry of Public Works.

Sometimes, he said, many ASN want to refuse training because there is work to be done first.

"And sometimes if you are told to train, first. Is it true or not? If you want permission, the job will be urgent first, then the job will be because this is more important to pursue the target," he said.

In fact, he said, the number of ASN within the scope of the Ministry of Public Works who participated in training was far behind the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) and the Ministry of Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemenpan RB).

"We heard that currently the most advanced are the Ministry of Finance and Kemenpan RB. Now the PU must also advance," said Diana.

Therefore, Diana said, the launch of the Corporate Public Works was designed to harmonize education, learning and also the values of the work culture.

Not only that, but also to make it easier, accelerate the development and also the sustainable transformation of employees.

"I hope that (with this launching) it can catch up to 50 percent of ASN. So, the Ministry of Public Works can become an organization that encourages all of its employees to develop and also transform for the achievement of optimal performance," he concluded.
