JAKARTA - The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) reports that the oil and gas lifting achievement until October 31, 2024 has reached 1.54 million barrels of oil equivalent (BOEP).

"Alhamdulillah, so our lifting target is 1.66 million BOEPD in the 2024 State Budget," said Head of SKK Migas Djoko Siswanto in a Hearing Meeting (RDP) with Commission XII DPR RI quoted on Tuesday, November 19.

Djoko said, until the end of 2024, SKK Migas projects the performance of oil and gas lifting to reach 1.56 million BOPD.

He emphasized that this year, not only highlighted the findings of oil but also received many large amounts of natural gas.

Not only findings, SKK Migas also highlighted plans to develop several giant oil and gas fields such as Abadi Masela Field, Genting Oil Field in Papua, findings in Andaman Block, Sakakemang Block, and other oil and gas fields.

Despite recording fantastic oil and gas lifting achievements, said Djoko, the biggest challenge faced by SKK Migas is oil lifting which is still below the SKK Migas target.

However, he stressed, SKK Migas together with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources have planned a number of strategies to curb the decline in lifting and boost the achievement of domestic oil lifting.

"Together with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, we have prepared a number of steps to minimize the gap between the target and the realization of lifting," continued Djoko.

Previously, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia gave the assignment to Djoko Siswanto to increase the flow of oil which had only been in the range of 600,000 barrels of oil per day (BOPD).

"I feel it is important to convey firmly for this lifting business. Our lifting is now only 600,000 BOPDs and we can actually improve them, but for one reason or another. So far there are 301 exploration drilling, 195 wells in Pertamina and some other places. I ask Pak Joko, who has just been inaugurated, I ask to be completed. That is your main job, "said Bahlil, quoted on Friday, November 8.

Furthermore, the Head of SKK Migas was also asked to cut licensing and strengthen coordination with related parties so that obstacles would not arise.
