PUPR Reveals Budget For 4 Infrastructure Sectors In 10 Years Of Jokowi's Government

JAKARTA - There are four main infrastructure fields during the 10 years of the administration of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, which has just been revealed by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), namely water resources, marga-building, creating works, and housing.

"So the first term budget ceiling for the water resources sector is IDR 171.98 trillion, and the ceiling for the second period is IDR 236.78 trillion," said Expert Staff of the Minister of PUPR for Technology, Industry and Environment as well as Spokesperson for the Ministry of PUPR Endra S Atmawidjaja in Jakarta, reported ANTARA, Saturday, October 5.

Endra also added that for the first budget ceiling development sector (2015-2019) amounting to Rp246.75 trillion and the second term budget ceiling (2020-2024) of Rp324.64 trillion.

Then for the work creation sector, the budget ceiling for the first period (2015-2019) was IDR 96.35 trillion and the second term budget ceiling (2020-2024) was IDR 126.93 trillion.

As for the housing sector, the budget ceiling for the first period (2015-2019) was IDR 45.04 trillion and the second term (2020-2024) budget ceiling was IDR 49.73 trillion.

For information, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) is always committed to realizing quality and sustainable infrastructure development.

Under the leadership of President Joko Widodo during the 2014-2024 period, the Ministry of PUPR managed to complete a number of infrastructures to increase competitiveness and support economic growth.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said there are two main roles of infrastructure, first infrastructure as a means of production and supporting economic growth, such as roads, toll roads, energy, and dams.

Second, infrastructure as a fulfillment of basic services, such as the provision of drinking water, roads and bridges, housing, sanitation, and irrigation. Basic infrastructure itself is an important asset to support economic infrastructure.

In the field of water resources, the Ministry of PUPR through the Directorate General of Water Resources has successfully completed the construction of 53 dams out of 61 dam units built. The dams that have been completed include the Sepaku Semoi Dam, Ameroro Dam, Leuwikeris dam, Way Sekampung Dam and Kuningan Dam.

In addition, the Ministry of PUPR through the Directorate General of Highways has also completed 5,999 km of new road construction, 125,904 m of bridge construction, 583 suspension bridges and 27,673 m of flyover/underpass construction.

In the residential sector, the Ministry of PUPR through the Directorate General of Human Settlements has completed the Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM) 36,380 Ltr/dtk, so that access to drinking water is suitable for 93% of the total population. Then, handling residential areas 94,321 ha, handling waste and sanitation 13.7 million families, so that sanitation access is feasible to reach 82% of the total population. Then the construction of 15 integrated State Border Posts (PLBN), as well as the construction, rehabilitation or renovation of educational facilities, sports, and markets of 5,939 units.

In the housing sector, the Ministry of PUPR through the Directorate General of Housing built 10.2 million housing units with the contribution of the APBN through the One Million Houses Program. Then 1.49 million housing units through the Swadaya House/Swadaya Housing Stimulant Assistance (BSPS) program, 40,347 special housing units and 71,731 flats.
