JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi has made the Leuwipanjang Terminal in Bandung a pilot model for developing type A terminals in Indonesia.

"The Leuwipanjang terminal can be a pilot model for other regions in developing modern and community service-oriented terminals," said the Minister of Transportation in a statement, Saturday, September 28, quoted by Antara.

According to the Minister of Transportation, the existence of complete facilities, such as a comfortable waiting room, commercial area, and performance stage, makes this terminal not only a transportation center, but also a center for community activities.

"In the future, we will continue to strive to improve connectivity between modes of transportation and integrate various public services at terminals," he said.

The Minister of Transportation said the appearance of Leuwipanjang Terminal, which is clean, neat, and comfortable like'mal', is a directive from President Joko Widodo who wants to eliminate negative stigma about bus terminals.

"The president gave us directions, made a safe and comfortable terminal, don't be a scary place, people are afraid to come, if they come they have problems and so on. Leuwipanjang Terminal is good, cold, happy, digitized, far from what has been described so far," said the Minister of Transportation.

The Minister of Transportation also appreciated the successful implementation of the digitalization system at Leuwipanjang Terminal. With the online ticket purchase system and integration with Samsat services, the public can make various transactions more easily and efficiently.

"Digitalization has changed the face of public transportation. People can now enjoy a more comfortable and practical journey. We will continue to encourage the development of similar systems in other terminals throughout Indonesia," said the Minister of Transportation.
