Build Fish Milk Factory In Pekalongan, KKP Needs A Budget Of IDR 8 Billion

INDRAMAYU - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) is encouraging fish milk to become an alternative source for cow's milk.

In line with this, the KKP plans to build a fish protein hydrolysat (HPI) factory in Pekalongan, Central Java.

Fish milk is one of the products of HPI technology.

Director of Processing of the Directorate General of Strengthening Competitiveness for Marine and Fishery Products (PDSPKP) Widya totalo said, for the HPI factory itself, it was only in Indramayu, but the factory was not a pilot factory from the KKP.

"For the current HPI factory, PT. Gives Indramayu. However, the KKP will soon build a HPI unit in Pekalongan. Hopefully in November, it can finally be trial and make HPI products," said Widya when met at the HPI Factory, Indramayu, West Java, Wednesday, September 18.

Widya said, to make a HPI factory, a budget of Rp. 8 billion was needed.

He said this was a plan that had been launched by the KKP for a long time. In fact, his party has also been compiling it for a long time.

He said the construction of the HPI factory in Pekalongan will be carried out next week. The production capacity of powder or HPI powder that can be produced reaches 2 tons.

"Next week, construction has started. Designing it is not fast, it has been a long time. The results are the same, the volume is 2 tons per month in the form of a powder," he said.

From there it will produce various kinds of processed products from fish proteins, including fish milk. He said, Pekalongan took one year for the trial period.

Thus, the results of the HPI processing from the area cannot be included in the free nutritious eating program (MBG) in the near future.

He said the HPI factory owned by PT Gives Indonesian Bahari which will later supply fish milk for the MBG program.

"(The HPI factory in Pekalongan for MBG?) If in the near future from here (Inndramayu), Pekalongan cannot have a trial first. It will take one year," explained Widya.

Even so, he said that in the near future he had not planned for massive production.

However, his party will propose to the National Food Agency (Bapanas) and the Nutrition Agency regarding the various processed fish.

"Kalau sekarang belum rencana produksi tapi ketersediaannya dulu. Kemudian kami tawarkan kepada Bapanas ini telah, ini produknya, harganya ini. Nanti dari Bapanas dan Badan Nutrition yang akan pilih," ungkapnya.
