After Being Appointed As President Director Of Bulog, Wahyu Suparyono Wants To Eradicate The Food Mafia

JAKARTA - President Director of Perum Bulog Wahyu Suparyono admitted that he would focus on eradicating the mafia, especially in the food sector.

According to him, this is a way to strengthen domestic food security.

One thing is that Perum Bulog must work better to eliminate the food mafia. Eliminate the so-called food mafia. That's what I noted is important," he said when met at the DPR Building, Jakarta, Thursday, September 12.

Wahyu said the food mafia in question is the middle or merchant who plays with prices and food supplies.

Furthermore, Wahyu said how to eradicate the food mafia, namely by embracing cooperation in making partnerships.

"It's not the mafia, I mean tengkulak-tengkulak who (play) spectral, don't. I think if we are good the commuation will run well. Definitely (the mafia traffic), the way we embrace it together with partnerships," he explained.

Not only eradicating the food mafia, Wahyu admitted that he would also fix data processing, both harvest and production. He said the data used was BPS data.

"In the basis of data usage, one data. It means which spots are harvest data. This means production, yes, that's BPS data," he said.

Wahyu said, what is no less important is adding a dryer or grain dryer in Bulog's warehouses.

"Earlier, the direction of the Head of Badanas (Arief Prasetyo Adi) was conveyed, if the procurement of the dryer takes time, we will cooperate with partners. That is, associations, HKTI, Perpadi," he said.

According to Wahyu, building this partnership is very important. This is because Perum Bulog cannot run alone to strengthen food independence.

"We cannot work alone to strengthen independence, sovereignty and resilience. That's what we will do," he said.
