Check The Development Of IKN Airport, Minister Of Transportation: Runway Development Already 1,975 Meters

Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said the development of the Nusantara Airport development in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan, was quite significant. One of them is the construction of a runway or runway.

This was conveyed by the Minister of Transportation Budi after directly checking the progress of the construction of Nusantara Airport in IKN, East Kalimantan on Sunday, September 8.

Budi said that at the end of last August, the runway only had a length of 1,025 meters. However, currently the construction has reached more than 1,900 meters.

The runway development per day has reached 1,975 meters. This is still on our target. In the near future, it will be completed up to 2,200 meters," he said in an official statement, Monday, September 9.

Budi said the construction of Nusantara Airport in IKN continues to run quickly even though the weather conditions are sometimes drizzling and rainy. In addition to the runway, a number of developments in the airport area have been seen.

Among them are the VVIP terminal whose construction has reached 90.16 percent, compared to last month's 82.6 percent. Meanwhile, for the VIP terminal, 77.06 percent has been completed," he explained.

For supporting facilities, continued Budi, the ATC tower per day has been built 53.71 percent, the administrative and operational buildings have been built 61.03 percent, and the PKP-PK building has been completed by 68.71 percent.

"Until now the construction is going well. Obstacles are still in uncertain weather conditions and somewhat slow down work. But, everything is still on track," he said.

Meanwhile, Budi continued, for airport access support roads, now it has been built above 50 percent, the main access road is ready at 98.53 percent, the west perimeter road is built at 66.96 percent and the east perimeter road has been completed at 50.44 percent.

"All these roads will support access to and from the airport," he explained.

Overall, continued Budi, the progress of airport work has reached 74.79 percent with a working time of 273 days.

"I am optimistic that the airport will be completed as a whole according to the target time, namely on December 31, 2024," he said.
