CHINT Indonesia - NURINDA Cooperation In Production Of MV Panels To Support Government TKDN

JAKARTA - Global electrical equipment manufacturer, CHINT Group, through its subsidiary, PT CHINT Indonesia, has expanded to the production of a medium voltage or medium voltage electric panel by building an Air Insulated Switchgear (AIS) production unit with a voltage of 24 kilovolts (kV) in Cikupa, Tangerang.

The construction of this facility was carried out in collaboration with PT CHINT Indonesia with PT NURINDA as the leading electricity panel provider company in Indonesia. The cooperation between the two was stated in the signing of a memorandum of Agreement (MoA) memorandum of Agreement memorandum at the 'Joint Venture Agreement between PT CHINT Indonesia and PT NURINDA' at the Westin Hotel, Jakarta, Saturday, September 7.

Director of PT CHINT Indonesia Ace Chang explained that synergy with PT NURINDA is one of the company's efforts to support government programs in increasing the use of the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) to consolidate the use of products and build a domestic ecosystem in the electricity sector as initiated by PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) or PLN through the Local Content Movement for Nation (Locomotion) program.

"Seeing the need for switchgear equipment products to meet the needs of electricity transmission in Indonesia every year is quite large. It is hoped that the construction of an electric cubic panel factory that produces AIS-type switchgear will be able to contribute to increased productivity and competence in the electricity sector in Indonesia, especially in meeting domestic switchgear equipment," said Ace Chang.

Furthermore, Ace Chang said, his party cooperated with PT NURINDA because of its ability and experience in producing certified electrical panels, both in the government and private sectors in a number of locations in Indonesia so that quality and safety have been tested.

As is known, PT NURINDA is a local company that has been active for more than 20 years in the field of electricity so that it is consistent in providing panels and electrical devices that have been tested for quality.

Director of PT NURINDA Suwardi Setiawan targets the annual production capacity of the construction of an electric cubic panel factory with PT CHINT Indonesia as many as 2,000 AIS electrical panels.

"We are targeting its annual production to be at 2,000 at a voltage level of 24 kV and it will continue to grow every year. Hopefully, we can continue to meet domestic switchgear needs," said Suwardi Setiawan.

In line with this, Asia Pacific Director CHINT Global Johnson Luu, who was also present at the event, stated that this expansion is CHINT Indonesia's ongoing commitment to strengthening electricity infrastructure in Indonesia.

This AIS plant is our 27th global manufacturing facility. We are committed to continuing to empower local resources and support domestic industrial growth, and have a positive impact on the Indonesian economy. We are also developing similar facilities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which are scheduled to operate in the coming quarters," said Johnson Luu.

Ace Chang also revealed that in the future PT CHINT Indonesia plans to develop the production of other electrical tools to expand the market, both domestically and internationally. This is in line with the big principle of CHINT, namely "Think Global, Act Local."
