Aggressive, SKK Migas Has Drilled 107 Wells During August 2024

JAKARTA - The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) reported that the realization of monthly drilling tax reached 107 wells this August.

Head of the SKK Migas Drilling and Well Division, Surya Widyantoro, detailed that the drilling consisted of 101 development wells and 6 exploration wells. The drilling tax achievement increased by 21.5 percent compared to July in 2024.

According to Surya, the realization of 101 majority of the development wells contributed from PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan as many as 54 wells; PT Pertamina EP as many as 16 wells; PT Pertamina Hulu Mahakam and PT Pertamina Hulu Sanga Sanga with 7 tax numbers each.

"Thursday, we will continue to encourage KKKS to drill in order to find new oil and gas reserves, so that the national oil and gas production target can be achieved," said Surya, Thursday, September 5.

With continued flooding increasing in 2024, cumulatively drilling development wells until August 31, 2024 reached 545 wells, with an estimated total investment value referring to the field estimated cost wells being drilled and completed to date reaching US$1.27 billion.

Meanwhile, the cumulative realization for drilling exploration wells until August 31, 2024, has reached 25 wells, with an estimated total investment value referring to the field estimated cost wells that have been drilled and completed to date reaching 469 million US dollars.

Head of the SKK Migas Program and Communication Division, Hudi D Suryodipuro, said that SKK Migas and KKKS continue to strive to increase oil production for national energy security by drilling massively, aggressively and efficiently.

According to Hudi, the challenges of oil and gas production and lifting in 2024 are more challenging compared to 2023.

In 2024, the upstream oil and gas industry will have hope because there are oil and gas discoveries whose potential is very large, such as the north gang and the Andaman block.

"The government through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and SKK Migas, has approved the north gang field PoD and this is a very good opportunity, of course we will continue to oversee this to increase production and energy security," concluded Hudi.
