JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) said that the Nusantara Capital City (IKN) Toll Road will be auctioned off its management in 2025.

This was conveyed by the Spokesperson for the Ministry of PUPR Endra S. Atmawidjaja when met by reporters at his office, Thursday, August 22.

"In the middle of next year, management auctions will be opened," said Endra.

Endra said, there are 3 IKN toll sections whose construction will be completed by the end of 2024. The three are the IKN Toll Road Section 3A Karangjoang-KKT Kariangau with a length of 13.4 kilometers (km), the IKN Toll Road Section 3B KKT Kariangau- Tempadung Intersection which stretches 7.32 km and the Section 5A Toll Road Simpang Tempadung-Jembatan Pulau Balang along 6.67 km.

According to Endra, after the construction was completed, the contractor still had to be responsible for infrastructure maintenance for the next 6 months.

"When the construction is completed, PHO (primary handover). This means that it has been completed. Then, there is a maintenance period of 6 months," he said.

The three sections of the IKN Toll Road have been functionalized to support the smooth implementation of the 79th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia on August 17, 2024.

The celebration of the 79th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia at IKN on August 17, 2024 is also a welcome ceremony to the new capital city.

Head of the IKN Infrastructure Development Task Force of the Ministry of PUPR, Danis Sumadilaga, claimed that the construction of the three toll roads was going well.

"The progress is good, it has been paved. Our main target is one route, one direction (there is) three lanes," said Danis when met at his office, Friday, July 5.
