Jokowi Groundbreaking Switzerland-Belhotel Nusantara: The Design Is In Accordance With The IKN Concept

JAKARTA - Swiss-Belhotel is officially included in the Nusantara Capital (IKN) area, in East Kalimantan.

This was marked by the laying of the first stone or groundbreaking of the Swiss-Belhotel Nusantara hotel.

The laying of the Swiss-Belhotel Nusantara's first stone was carried out directly by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), at IKN, East Kalimantan, quoted from the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, Monday, August 12.

"Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, this afternoon, the laying of the first stone for the groundbreaking of the Swiss-Belhotel Nusantara development in East Kalimantan Province, I officially declare that it will start," said Jokowi.

Jokowi said that the Swiss-Belhotel Nusantara design was in accordance with the IKN concept, East Kalimantan, which carries the theme of a forest city or forest city.

"I saw earlier that the design of the Swiss-Belhotel Nusantara hotel is very good, it has adapted to the concept of the capital city of the archipelago, namely forest city and of course it has come out of Ridwan Kamil's curation. Mr. Ridwan Kamil has been giving a thumbs up, which means very good," he said.

Furthermore, Jokowi said that the Swiss-Belhotel Nusantara will have 197 rooms, and the construction will be completed in just 15 months.

"This Swiss-Belhotel, Mr. Sonny, told me that 197 rooms will be built that will be completed, he conveyed to me, I asked if it would be carried out for more than 15 months, it would be finished," he explained.

Jokowi also confirmed that he would stay in the Swiss-Belhotel Nusantara later even though he no longer serves as the number one person in Indonesia. Jokowi's term of office will end on October 20, 2024.

"So Mr. Sonny, I'll come here to stay. Not as president, that means it's been, 15 months. And I will continue to see it even though I am not president, I will continue to follow it," he said.

The former governor of DKI Jakarta hopes that the IKN supporting infrastructure will soon be built in order to facilitate access to the Swiss-Belhotel Nusantara.

"We also hope that infrastructure facilities will soon be carried out by OIKN, by the government, in the form of access roads to Swiss-Belhotel, then electricity and water will be prepared soon. So that everything will be completed by the time this hotel is completed," he said.
