Deputy Minister Sudaryono: Technology Able To Create Seeds For Good Plantation Plants

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Agriculture (Wamentan) Sudaryono said technology belonging to the Ministry of Agriculture was able to create good plantation seedlings.

"The Ministry of Agriculture is able to be technologically, so it's just a matter of educating farmers who grow, such as palm oil, rubber," said Deputy Minister Sudaryono as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 12.

So that the plantation farmers get the information and appropriate access in finding good and satisfactory seeds in productivity.

Because, Wamenan said many were found selling fake seeds. "This is very unfortunate, for example, if the palm oil farmers get the seeds, they can lose for up to 30 years,".

Sudaryono added that those who sold the fake seeds, such as being sold online, had taken down, and were reported to the police for legal proceedings because it was a crime.

"We appeal to farmers, good palm oil, other commodities to buy seeds that have been certified because they determine the results planted," said Sudaryono.

Head of BBPPTP Medan, Maj. Siagian, added that his party has a laboratory for integration, quality tests, network culture and Deuxyribo Nuclear Acid (DNA). Regarding DNA, he said, he still focuses on plants, especially on palm oil.

His Majesty continued the focus to find superior oil palm seeds in order to get the results of farmer productivity with an increase of 40 percent.

"We urge farmers to buy certified seeds for good productivity," he said.
