Add Fleet, Pertamina Trans Kontinental Sails In Malaysian Waters

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK), a subsidiary of PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS), has added to the fleet of ships operating abroad.

This time, the foreign market expansion was successfully carried out by the Transko Celebes fleet, which is a multi-functional ship to carry out the necessary work support at offshore drilling. The Transko Celebes ship officially operates in Malaysian waters on Tuesday, July 23.

"This is the second ship of PTK operating abroad, proving that the quality of the PTK fleet is in accordance with global standards. Of course, this is a great motivation and opportunity for PTK to continue to develop and expand in the international market," said the President Director of PTK I Ketut Laba, Friday, July 26.

Previously, PTK had successfully operated the Transko Moloko ship to operate in Malaysia in May 2024. I Ketut Laba emphasized that the operation of these two ships was a form of PTK's efforts to expand its footprint in foreign waters.

The Transko Celebes fleet owned by PTK is an Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) type ship with a total length of 60.5 meters and a width of 14.6 meters.

Made in 2012, this Transko Celebes ship is equipped with cranes that can be used for Single Buoy Mooring (SBM) work. In its operations, Transko Celebes is used as an anchor handling, towing, and supply cargo to serve offshore drilling. In addition, this Transko Celebes is also equipped with two forward thrusters which allows this ship to move freely when it is off the coast.

Marketing Director of PTK Andy Arvianto revealed that Transko Celebes is a ship that often passes off the coast of Kalimantan and Sumatra to support upstream oil and gas sector work within the Pertamina Group. Prior to operating in Malaysia, Transko Celebes operated to support the operations of Pertamina Hulu Energi Offshore Southeast Sumatra (PHE OSES), Pertamina Hulu Mahakam (PHM), and Pertamina Hulu East Kalimantan (PHKT).

PTK will be more aggressive in targeting various other global business opportunities and encouraging non-captive markets. So that PTK can have brand positioning as a support ship provider company for offshore, Indonesian marine services meet international standards, are able to compete and can be accepted by the global market.
