JAKARTA - Director General of Construction Development of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Abdul Muis said that disturbances at the Temporary National Data Center (PDNS) due to ransomware attacks had an impact in the procurement process for a number of government projects.

The reason is, currently the government procurement or tender process is carried out through an online system.

"Although thank God the remaining ones have been affected by less than 10 percent because the auction and our work has been completed 90 percent in 2024," said Abdul Muis at a press conference launching the Indonesian Construction at the PUPR Ministry Building, Jakarta, Tuesday, July 23.

Abdul Muis detailed several auction procurement processes that were affected by the hacking of PDNS, such as work projects in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) and the National Strategic Project (PSN). Even so, the auction process was resumed even though it used a manual system.

"There are (PSN), which also exist in IKN. So, because there is a process of constraints in PDN, what we used was a support information system, we changed it back to manual," he said.

He added that the auction procurement process using this manual system was indeed classified as taking more time than using an online system. This can ultimately have an impact on the postponement of the project completion process.

Due to this condition, Abdul Muis said that his party moved quickly to decide to hold a tender manually. Thus, the auction process continues.

"This includes the certification process, business entities, construction workforce certification carried out by LPJK as well as going back to manual," he said.

In addition, workers in the construction sector were also affected because they were late in obtaining a construction worker certificate. This is because some of the data is stored on the server.

"Overall, I don't memorize how much. But what is clear is that it has a significant impact, especially regarding the construction workforce certification process," he said.
