ASDP Indonesia Ferry Earns IDR 356 Billion Profit In Semester I-2024

JAKARTA - PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) recorded a net profit of IDR 356 billion in the first semester of 2024. This is the positive financial performance of the first year of 2024.

"In the first half of 2024, ASDP recorded a profit of IDR 356 billion, showing significant growth in the ferry industry," said ASDP Corporate Secretary Shelvy Arifin quoting Antara.

Shelvy said that ASDP also posted consolidated revenues of IDR 2.560 trillion. This figure is an increase of nine percent compared to the same period the previous year.

He revealed that the increase in financial performance was the result of various efficiency strategies and operational improvements implemented by management.

"We see a positive trend in our financial performance, which is the result of a commitment to continue optimizing services and operations," he said.

As for the company's liquidity ratio, it is in liquid condition and has the ability to fulfill all its short-term obligations.

Furthermore, in the first half of 2024, ASDP also managed to record a positive EBITDA value of IDR 1.08 trillion.

He said, one of the main factors that boosted revenue growth was the increase in the number of passengers and vehicles served.

In the first semester of 2024, ASDP served a total of 5.89 million passengers and 11.42 million vehicles throughout Indonesia.

"The number of vehicles served has increased by 29 percent compared to the same period the previous year," he said.

In addition, ASDP also recorded an increase in the volume of goods transported, reaching 0.7 million tons in the first semester of 2024.

The increase contributed to the company's revenue growth, especially from the logistics sector, which is the main support for ASDP's performance.

Shelvy also emphasized that the digital innovation implemented by ASDP plays an important role in increasing the efficiency and productivity of the company.

"The digital transformations we carry out, including online ticket booking systems and technology-based operational management, have helped in improving efficiency and optimizing services," he explained.

In an effort to maintain business stability, ASDP continues to focus on sustainable programs and infrastructure improvements.

By 2024, ASDP is targeting revenue of IDR 5.710 trillion with a net profit of IDR 733 billion.

"This target is supported by the opening of eight new pioneer routes and the development of various main ports, including Merak and Bakauheni ports," explained Shelvy.

ASDP has strengthened its fleet with a total of 208 ships operating until the first semester of 2024, serving 314 routes throughout Indonesia.

Of this amount, continued Shelvy, the commercial segment contributed 78.3 percent of the total revenue or IDR 1.031 trillion, while the pioneer track contributed 21.7 percent or IDR 285 billion.

"This achievement is proof that our strategy in improving services and operations is already underway. We will continue to strive to maintain and improve our financial performance, as well as provide the best service for service users," Shelvy said.

Shelvy admits that with these various achievements, ASDP shows its commitment to continue to grow and make a positive contribution to the national economy.

Previously, the ASDP 2023 audited consolidated performance report from January to December 2023, ASDP recorded revenue of IDR 5,032 trillion and net profit of IDR 637 billion.
