Central Java Gas Infrastructure Makes The Commercial Sector In Semarang Stretch

JAKARTA - PT PGN (Persero) Tbk (PGAS) received fresh air to expand the market to the commercial sector in Central Java, impacting the integration of Gresem transmission infrastructure, Cisem I pipelines and distribution pipelines. Integration is also an important facility for supply optimization, especially from Jambaran Tiung Biru (JTB) Field.

Semarang Head Area Sugianto Eko Cahyono explained that commercial markets in the Semarang area are mostly engaged in the hotel sector. By using pipes, volume capacity and gas reliability that are channeled to customers increases.

"PGN certainly maintains a higher value of natural gas that customers can get, namely guaranteed supply 24 hours, efficient, safe and environmentally friendly," he said, Monday, July 22.

One of the commercial customers who now use PGN pipeline gas is Hotel Gumaya. This 5-star hotel uses PGN natural gas of 500 MMBTU per month or the equivalent of 14 Kilo Liter BBM per month.

When met, the Gumaya Hotel used natural gas for kitchen and laundry purposes.

"The use of PGN's natural gas provides energy cost efficiency of approximately 40 percent. In addition, the safety aspect that is a concern for operations from PGN as part of the Pertamina Group's extended family is one of our considerations for choosing natural gas," said Rohayat as Chief Engineering Hotel Gumaya.

He explained that the use of pipes is also more secure in supply and helps in calculating the use of energy per month. In addition, there is a record of gas use, making it easier to calculate preventive expenses related to daily operations.

"Gas pressure for the kitchen and laundry has been monitored to be stable. So far, gas reliability is also stable," he said.

PGN's positive response and use of natural gas from customers encourages PGN's optimism to reach a wider commercial market in Central Java. There is already a supply and supporting infrastructure, PGN hopes that it will run smoothly in commercialization and gas services for customers. Environmentally friendly natural gas also has a role in supporting green business.

Just so you know, currently, PGN Semarang area serves 31 industries & Commercial, 29 small customers and 1 power plant. The volume of absorption in industrial customers - commercial increases from 0.5 BBTUD to 3.5 BBTUD after Gresem integration, Cisem I Pipes and PGN distribution pipes.
