Thomas Djiwandono Becomes Deputy Minister Of Finance, Sri Mulyani Reveals Strengthening Coordination In Preparation Of The State Budget

Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati said that with the inauguration of Thomas Djiwandono as Deputy Minister of Finance II, he would cooperate with Deputy Minister of Finance I Suahasil Nazara in managing state finances and preparing the 2025 State Budget Draft (RAPBN).

"Pak Thomas Djiwandono as Deputy Minister of Finance will work together with Mr. Deputy Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara and also all echelon 1 officials to be able to carry out their duties to manage state finances, carry out their duties as state treasurers together," he said at a press conference. Sri Mulyani explained that the existence of Thomas Djiwandono as Deputy Minister of Finance II will strengthen coordination between the current government and the Synchronization Task Force Team for the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka government.

"As Deputy Minister of Finance II mas tommy will further strengthen us at the Ministry of Finance in coordinating with this transitional process team, in this transitional government process," he explained.

Sri Mulyani hopes that this transition process will continue smoothly and maintain the sustainability of state financial management based on good governance, accountability, prudent, discipline, and credible.

In addition, Sri Mulyani congratulated Thomas Djiwandono as Deputy Minister of Finance II and hopes to be able to maintain and manage state financial fiscal instruments so that they can become instruments that are able to answer the challenges of the times and in the future.

He added that the Ministry of Finance remains committed to managing and using the state budget to continue to respond to the dynamics of the global and national economy.

According to him, steps in the implementation of the State Budget must also be able to mitigate the risks of various global dynamics in order to maintain economic stability and strengthen the momentum of economic growth, as well as maintain healthy and sustainable fiscal instruments.

Similarly, Thomas conveyed that with his inauguration he showed consistency during the transition period from Jokowi's administration to President-elect Prabowo.

"This shows that the consistency of us first met about three months ago in this building as well. As far as I remember, the mother of Finance was pleased to meet the synchronization team chaired by Mr. Dasco at that time and it was about three months ago, so this actually shows this consistency," he said.

Therefore, Thomas conveyed that he was included in Jokowi's Cabinet to ensure that President-elect Prabowo was consistent in maintaining future fiscal instruments.
